Make Money from AdSense

Do you want to generate a revenue stream that works while you sleep?

I installed Google AdSense on one of my websites back in June this year. To my amazement... my first cheque should be on its way by the end of this month :)

For those of you that don't know what Google AdSense is, in a nutshell; it's basically adverts that you put on your website. When users click on those adverts you make money.

The great thing abut AdSense is that it's fully automatic. Once it's installed you can just walk away, put your feet up, make a cup of tea or have a nap!

So how can you generate a reliable stream of income from Google AdSense? Let me explain...

There's a technique that I learnt earlier this year and I've been able to duplicate it.

The technique I use only makes about £1 per day on a website... by it's so easy to duplicate the system!

Duplicating the system means it's easy to have 3 websites = £3 per day... 10 website = £10 per day... 100 website = £100 per day and so on.

Enough of the earning potential let's get down to business.

Step One - Finding A Good Market

Finding a market with a hungry crowd is very important. Since we'll be using AdSense to make our money we'll need to find some high paying keywords. So for this step head over to SpyFoo.com.

SpyFoo lists the highest paying keywords online. So for example: according to SpyFoo the keyword "mustang insurance" is worth approximately £32.95 per click.

It's important to note at this point that you won't actually make £32.95 if someone clicks on the advert on your website. You're probably looking at about 10% which would be £3.30. Still, not bad for just one click!

Have a look through SpyFoo and find a good market that has high paying keywords.

Step Two - Finding Niche Keywords

Now we have high paying keywords we have a problem.

They're very competitive.

The amount of work required to get to the top of Google for a keyword such as "mustang insurance" is huge. So let's find some easier niche keywords.

Head over to the Google Keyword tool and enter your general keyword e.g. "mustang insurance".

Under "Choose columns to display" select "show all".

You will now see just how much on average people are paying per click (not the maximum amount people are paying) for your selected keywords.

But we need to find niche keywords that you can compete on to gain visitors...

Click the column heading "Global Monthly Search Volumes" so that column is sorted in descending order.

Now look for keywords that have between 1,000 and 3,000 searches per month, give or take. Select "Add" for all the keywords that are between 1,000 and 3,000 then right at the bottom of the page select "download all keywords as text".

You now have a text file of niche keywords that you might be able to compete on in Google. So lets narrow these keywords down even further...

Step Three - Finding Low Competition Niche Keywords

You'll need to install SEO quake for this next step, which runs on FireFox internet browser.

You should have your list of keywords from step two. For each keyword you need to enable SEO Quake in FireFox and then enter the first keyword into the Google search engine.

You'll see the usual 10 results for your search results and SEO Quake should also show you the PageRank for each page.

Add up all the PageRanks for each page, of which there are 10. Then divide the total by 10. This gives you the Average PageRank for that keyword.

Repeat this process for all the keywords in your list.

Remove any keywords that produce an average PageRank of over 3.0 since these keywords are too competitive.

You should ideally be left with a list of about 20 keywords. If not repeat steps two and three with different general keywords until you have 20 keywords that all have an everage PageRank off less than 3.0

Step Four - Building Your AdSense Website

Building your website to host your AdSense adverts on is so easy...

Head on over to 1&1 to grab yourself a cheap hosting package (they start at around £1.99 per month) and a domain name (e.g. www.your-niche-keyword.com).

Then install WordPress onto your website which will be the main platform and CMS (content management system) to organise the content of your website. You don't have to use WordPress you can use any CMS or build the website yourself if your comfortable doing that.

At this stage create a holding page on your website with something like:

"This website is all about [your main keyword] but is currently under construction"

Install some AdSense adverts on your website. Be sure to mention what your website is all about (i.e. your main keyword) so AdSense can start displaying targeted adverts on your site.

Using that list of 20 x keywords you're going to produce 20 x 250 word articles with the titles of each keyword as the article title.

At this point if you want to save yourself having to write all 20 articles, which takes quite a while, there's a quicker way.

You can have all 20 articles written for you for about $40/£27 on freelancer.com. It's a site I've used for years to outsource work. Just post a new project and descibe that you want 20 x 250 work articles written on the subject that you've chosen. Budget around $40 for this.

Once you've got all the articles written add them to Buzzle.com and wait for them to be approved. Buzzle only accepts 5 articles at a time so you may need to wait about four days until your articles are approved.

Once your articles have been approved on Buzzle.com upload all 20 of them to your website and place your AdSense adverts around the articles. I find a large 336 x 280 square advert just below the title of the article but before the content of the article and another 336 x 280 square advert below the article should do the trick.

Step Five - Drive Targeted Visitors To Your New Website

Now it's time to start driving traffic to your website.

It's at this stage that you'll start getting clicks on your adverts and thus you'll start making money :)

Submit all 20 of your articles to the article directories listed below:
(the reason you've already submitted the articles to buzzle.com is because they don't approve your article if it's already published elsewhere online)

Once you've submitted your articles to the above directories it might take a few days/weeks for the articles to be approved. But it will be worth it :)

You'll soon start getting visitors to your website and your website should start to appear in Google and other search engines for your 20 keywords.

Step Six - Rinse & Repeat

That's all there is to it.

It might look like a lot when written down but it really doesn't take that long to research a competitive market, find niche keyword, setup a website and send targeted traffic to the website.

It's so easy to repeat this process over and over until you have 10s or even 100s of mini website online that are making you money whilst you sleep!

Please feel free to post your success stories and let me know how you get on by posting your comments below :)

All the best
Simon

I have a love hate affair with adsense. There are still a few blogs and websites out there I'm a little ashamed of and have neglected. I think if I'd persisted and managed to get my first check it would be a different story.... maybe in 2010 : )

Hi, Thanks for the information.
\"This website is all about [your main keyword] but is currently under construction\"
is the [your main keyword] the one I started with. eg. you used \"mustang insurance\" so would I use this keyword.
Also the new pages for each of the new keywords I found, do I put these in the metatag keyword and description metatag or still use the main keywords.

Hope this is clear
