Google Page Rank Update

It has been 139 days since the last Google Page Rank update on the 30th April 2007, the longest in 2 years. I am trying to increase the Page Rank on many of my websites including SimonBell.biz but I am trying to determine what Page Rank my websites are likely to achieve.

In my anticipation I recently came across the iWeb Tool Page Rank predictor which provides an effective analysis of backlinks to a website and thus its predicted Page Rank.

In previous years Google updated its Page Rank roughly every 30 days, but recently this has reduced to quarterly (every 3months).

Page Ranks actually update continuously and it impacts the algorithm long before an update occurs for Page Rank. Once a websites achieves a "PR0" from a "n/a" it has been assigned a Page Rank which could be anything from 0-10 but will not appear on the Toolbar until the next update.

It seems like l have been looking out for the latest Google tool bar page rank (TBPR) update for months. In fact it has been since the end of July. I have even read ever thread that I can find on the subject, but none seem to offer any insight as to what is happening. For me my web site has been around for a good while but I only started watching the TBPR since the beginning of the year. So this will be only the second adjustment I will see, hence I am keen to see are my efforts, making any difference to Googles’ opinion of my site.

Your post mentioned that TBPR, used to be updated, monthly and only recently moved to quarterly. Given the current delay, I wonder are Google, reconsidering publishing PR altogether. I must say, I hope this is not the case as it is really the only easily understandable and comparable measure of how your site is doing in Google.

On a side note, I believe Google has raised the bar in terms of what is required to get higher PRs, so the next TBPR update will be very interesting.

Please keep reporting any news on the subject as you get it.

Thank you for this informative post. My site has been online almost four months now and despite having many visitors and backlinks, I've been so disappointed that by PageRank is still "0"!

The tool you linked to is very useful and has provided me with hope of achieving a PageRank soon. Other PR predictors I have tried simply offer no insight of what I could hope to achieve, and predict that my PageRank would remain at 0.

I wonder why we have had to wait so long for an update? I just hope the next one is soon, as I can't help thinking visitors are distracted from reading my posts as relevent content based on the sad PR I currently have.
